It was designed by our own Paul "SynthTech/MOTM" Schreiber, way back 
when. Through no fault of Paul's, surely, they use a black foam 
rubber that turns into black goo (so-called "tar") over the years. 
That's a big thing to watch out for when picking up a used MG-1 -- 
has it been de-tarred or not (and by whom and through what means?).

Anyway, they command silly prices (Moog L@@K!) so they are way beyond 
your zero-budget price range. Sorry!
