So the question is, why does the waveform look this way? It sounds like
there is an RC limit going on.
Most VCOs integrate a current which gives a ramp waveform. At some
point the ramp is reset to zero and the cycle starts over. Does your
waveform drop from its peak amplitude straight to ground, or does it
display the same shape as the rising edge, only flipped around?
