[sdiy] Polysynth voice muting

I've only done very simple mods up to this point, but a thought
occured to me recently. I have a couple of polysynths (namely, the
Kawai K3) which have Unison modes but not single-voice Solo, and I
usually find the stacking of all available voices undesirable when
dealing with DCOs, particularly ones as "glassy" and prone to
phase-shift as the K3. I was thinking of installing perhaps a front
panel DIP switch in order to select the number of voices to stack in
Omni mode, in order to limit a monophonic patch to only one or two
voices. It then occured to me that a simple switch mechanism might
create a POP when the switches are thrown and possibly other problems
- so should I look into using a simple VCA? Thanks
