I have no idea whether it's true or not. One of the developer people might 
be accessible so it's not impossible that I could ask.

But I know what my ears tell me:

The filter on the MS20 clone really screams.
The envelopes on the Polysix clone accurately capture that analogue punch 
that most softsynths seem to miss.
The filter on the Polysix also has a creamy growl.

There are also some interesting noises from the Wavestation clone, but 
because it's digital I think we can ignore it. :)
