There's been major trouble in Australia in two areas:
1. the notorious self-dissolving electrolytics (the electrolyte formula 
was stolen but they left out one of the corrosion inhibitors... imagine 
a video camera with all the electros leaking)
2. 'power' transistors that are actually ordinary transistors in a power
case. I wouldn't have thought it worth doing, but apparently so.
