I agree, I've got several of these and I've NEVER had any trouble with them, period.
But then, I don't abuse them either. Abuse would be trying to push huge wire into
them. I use only single strand telephone wire. Also, IMHO, it's not wise to build
things that get really hot on them, warm is OK, (to me, "hot" means I can't leave my
finger on the running part for 10 seconds).
Like everything, there's a proper way to use them and an improper way.
There is also manufactured quality to consider.
