This is a VERY BAD idea. Lead is ingested primarily through the  
mouth. It is a soft metal and leaves traces on fingers. Always wash  
you hands after handling lead or solder.

For good information on lead safety, see a book on Stained Glass  
practice. They use MUCH more lead than electronics does.
