The smoke can be scary sometimes. We have a cabinet with 4 4700uF 500V
capacitors in it at work. When we first commissioned the equipment, the
smoke highlighted the fact the electricians wired the caps in backwards.

the cabinet was securely closed, but the explosion blew the door open.
Fireball then shot out about 3 meters.

One student somehow (we're not sure) managed to make part of a 2SA798 blow 
right off and fly off into who knows where. There's a chunk missing from 
it.
