Hi Aaron
4053 is ~not~ an ideal spdt
when it switches... there can be a point where both switches are on
(somewhat) at the same time. This could be a problem.
The 4053 will switch pretty much the full supply range... minus a small
amount.
I'd look at the Maxim or Siliconix switch line... +/- 15V range... and
some
true SPDT switching. ~or~ I'd control the 4016/4066 so that switching is
make before break.
I do have experience with the 4053... as the data sheet discloses... it
can
short the two ends of the switch. This screwed up my circuit... I used
diodes to
prevent the unwanted interaction.
