Ah... that is *almost* right, I will actually agree with you since there is no
_REAL_ baud rate clock thing which would make it directly usefull, but you can
actually change the clock division from /1, /16 and /64. Woopie! Three baud-
rates programmable!

For the C64 MIDI application it was just right. For other MIDI stuff, well, if
you only do UART you can still use it, but lack of FIFOs can be annoying and
makes software much more pain in the but than it needs to.. For general serial
it should be considered a retired oldtimer at the best.

For a new commercial design, using it should be considered a misstake. It is
large, bulky and needs alot of support compared to what modern UARTs sitting
onchip somewhere will do.
