But m here is nearly 1. Judging from the 5C3's response in the Perkin 
Elmer datasheet.
That is to say its IMO not different enough from a straight line to 
justify a linearisation. Btw, the parallel resistor also changes the 
linearity. How accurate can you actuate a foot pedal anyway?
And the key question is: Is anyone going to notice the difference?
