Wet the portion that has the Sharpie on it, WITH a Sharpie.  Wipe it
IMMEDIATELY with a cloth or something.  Rewetting the Sharpie ink,
with more Sharpie ink, will make it wet, and removable. :)
Putting alchohol on it, COULD damage the 909. :O

Hope that helps. :) (I've recently done this, at work on PCBs. Works
well.  Just have to do it, a fair bit, to get the smallest marks,
gone. :) )
