[sdiy] haptics and synths?

I am looking at ways to make synthesizers play more like a real instrument.
I have come across the term "Haptics" to describe the idea of addign force
feedback to control devices. There is a lot of research being into this and
there are definitely applications to music ocntrollers.

Does anyone know some good DIY resources for building haptic controllers??
