I ordered a handful of the 3/4" sensors on monday, they arrived today.  

planning some kind of controller pad, w/ individual sensor outputs (scaled), plus a gate out based on summing the sensors and running that thru a comparator (comparator ref. voltage used to control sensitivity)... or something like that.
