If I remember correctly, the 2 Attack functions are from a dual pot. 
Both are adjusted at the same time.
Logic takes care of the Decay, Sustain and Release portions depending
on the Gate.

In the mid 90's, I built a version of it with independant Attacks - it
worked quite well, giving 2 different portions to the Attack. :)

It's in the Electronotes packages, from some time in the 70's. :)
