Rack-mounting versions are great if you want to have more than one unit
sitting side by side or alongside other modular gear. Nothing beats the
feeling of being completely surrounded by sequencers and flashing lights. :)

On the other hand, I've found that our desktop unit sits nicely on top of my
master keyboard rig:

This is a very natural playing position plus it has the advantage that the
audience can still see you twiddling dem' knobs, something that you don't
get with those silly little software sequencer thingies. (Whenever I see
someone using a software sequencer on stage I wonder if he's checking his
e-mail, surfing for p*rn or playing Quake...)

Anyway, just a few thoughts waiting for the compiler to munge another
source.
