Heat Shrink has its place. I think most modules can be assembled without
any if you plan ahead when you run coax, but sometimes its nice to double
heat shrink a coax connection ( 1/16" over the exposed twisted braid, then
1/8" over the end of the coax sheath itself, covering a little of the
previously covered shield and center conductor ). This makes a nice neat
fully insulated connection.

I also use it to colour code 1/8" patch cables when I make them.

I used to just use a butane lighter for heatshrink, but its a lot easier
when you are doing a bunch to use a heat gun ( look in the paint stripping
department of your local hardware store ) and the butane lighters will
discolour lighter shades of heatshrink.

I dont have a mouser part number for heatshrink as I usually buy it at the
swap meet or surplus places. I do tend to buy Alpha brand when I can.
Thats Alpha Wire not Alpha the potentiometer company.
