Did you read my field guide to capacitors ?
There is a copy at www.musicsynthesizer.com
For most non critical places I use Polyester (Mylar)
... Mouser has them from Xicon and I buy tons of them.
I'd call interstage coupling in audio paths a non
-critcal app.
For critical timing apps (VCO timing... VCF frequency)
I use polystyrene whenever possible (these are getting
hard to get in values larger than .01uF)
