thanks for all the kind words. now for a little q&a...
first of all, how do i reply to these messages so that it maintains
the original format instead of starting a new email with the same
subject line? also, where do the majority of the people in this forum
live? i'm in alabama (right, i know, but i'm not a hick i swear), and
i don't know if anyone else is around here. also, as i said, i'm just
starting off in the wonderful world of synth tech, and i haven't done
too much. the extent of my knowledge is building a few distortion
units for guitars and fooling around with some 555 oscillators etc.
I've read Mims' "Op amps" book, and LOVED it. I've got a pretty good
understanding of op amps and basic analog electronics, but i'm totally
lost as far as CMOS/TTL/digital goes, and i'm just dying to learn
everything i can about all of this... i learn best by reading and
doing, so if anyone has any suggestions for books (especially with
working schems in them), i'd love to get some titles. if anyone has
tips on getting started (getting a lab set up, methods of learning,
etc.), i'd love to hear those, too. another question is: anyone in
this forum around my age? i'm seventeen, and i was wondering the
average age of people in it. all of this synth stuff is enormously
interesting to me, and i just can't wait to get started on everything
i can dealing with it. oh... harry, the marx refers to karl... hope no
one's too offended.
hah, any response appreciated.
thanks guys,
spencer
