Hi list,

Thomas Henry's at it again - this time he's picking on the late, great TI SN76477. Come to find out, under expo control, one can get around five reasonably controllable octaves out of it. He's developed a voice module out of it for those of us who still have an SN76477 in the parts bin.

He recorded a demo of it, and I've posted it at the Electro-Music Synth DIY forum here:

http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-12356.html

The sample has two voices - one is his sound card, and the other is the SN76477 singing along with it. It's really quite worth hearing, especially if you've tinkered with SN76477's' in the past.

For those of you with SN76477's, shine up those crusty pins - I'll be posting a web page complete with schematics and the rundown on the trauma of taming the SN76477. There are some details of the SN-Voice in the above posted thread.

Cheers,
Scott

PS: Michael, you don't know how much of a PITA it was to preserve that annoying PWM and maintain the expo response =-D
