It's a wonderful chip for low voltage industrial applications
(before there were cheap micros, and when digital designers
used analog). I honest believe that it would have taken over the
world, if it didn't have such a dumb pinout. Really.

The Norton is an odd duck. Misunderstood in i! ts infancy, it got a reputation
(not wholely undererved) for being a "piece of sh!t" (opinions of many respected
engineers). Other designers such as Serge T. excelled with the part.
