Well, 'short shelf life' is *1 year*, it's not all that short. Meaning, you need 
to solder the board within 1 year of manufacture. I am taking all of the new 
RoHS pc boards from my vendor and immediately individually bagging them.

Yes RoHS is a pain. I finally got the last non-compliant part switched over (the 
jacks) so now MOTM is fully compliant *except* for the solder. Afer July1, I 
will ship kits without solder. Now is a *really good time* to address that issue 
(cough cough).
