[sdiy] Whammy Pedal Mods?

That immediately made me think of the Alesis line of cheap-as-dirt digital
fx pedals... Philtre, Bitrman and friends. In all likelihood dirt-cheap
means bare minimum implimentation with no programming headers, certainly no
socketed chips and possibly no re-burnable ones even if they could be gotten
to and stuck in a programmer... however the similarities across the range
of these pedals make me think that they must all be the same basic platform
running different DSP code - there's no other sensible way to do it. So,
perhaps the final product may have some opening for clever
hacking/re-coding.... any thoughts?
