I use Beldin RG174. A 500ft roll runs around $140 or less. I find it to be
quite flexible, yet it has a really decent shield unlike some of the cheap
audio-style ( ratshack ) cables.
For colour coding buy some variety packs of shrinktube, and for connectors I'm
using the Neutrik 1/8" plugs because they are built like tanks and cheap.
You can probably go even cheaper on the RG174. I got mine off the shelf at
a local store. I specify Beldin because I know its stranded center
conductor. The solid-core stuff is bad news, really inflexible and will
break after repeated bends.
