[sdiy] Fixing a jupiter 8

Hi all,

A friend wants me to fix his Jupiter 8. It has sentimental value, so I
want to kind of know the situation going in. Anytime he hits the 8'th
voice, he gets nothing. Otherwise it works fine.

Looking at the service manual, I am thinking it is one of the module
boards, probaly the GH one? Is there a common failure mode so I can
just take the board and fix that rather than making him leave his
synth. It would make me less nervous to take the repaired board back &
test there, but if the problem is not common I will have to take it
home to run the full battery of tests.

I am new to synths but a long time electronic hobbyist and he knows
that. He is willing to give me a shot because he can't find anyone
else in town to do it, and he knows I'm honest and concientious.
