[sdiy] Triggering problems with sequencer. Any thoughts?

Help! :(

I've successfully got my 4 steps working, with a single 12 position (1
octave) rotary switch on each step.

I'm now trying to derive a Gate or Trigger FROM each step when it occurs.
The best I've been able to do, is get a Trigger out to one of my envelope
generators, when there's a larger than smaller transistion, between voltages
from the Control Voltage out summer. (Summing all of the rotary switch
outputs to a single CV out, which itself is working perfectly.)

As an example - say that I have the 4 notes set on the rotary switches to:

C1 (lowest pitch)
C2 (highest pitch)
E1 (2nd lowest pitch)
B1 (2nd highest pitch)

I'm only getting Triggers, from the Highest and 2nd Highest pitch, due to
the difference in voltage out of the CV summer.

I've tried the following combinations on the comparator, that is setup with
the following resistor divider on it's negative input:

- +15V through 1M8 to negative input
- Negative input through 15K to Ground

On the positive input of the comparator, I've tried:

- CV Out through 0.1uF to positive input; 1M to ground
- CV Out through 0.1uF to positive input; 2M to ground
- CV Out through 0.001uF to positive input; 1M to ground
- CV Out through 0.01uF to positive input; 1M to ground
- CV Out through 0.01uF to positive input; 200K to ground

Almost all of them gave me the above description. The worst (0.1 / 1M) gave
me a Trigger on only the very highest voltage.

What can I do, to get a new trigger, from every single step? (All steps are
coming from the 4051 1:8 multiplexer.) Would I have to have a separate
4051, generating a Gate/Trigger, each time? (That's my thoughts, now.
Which could be handy for more effects. :) )

Thanks for any help. :) At least 1 wav file'll be up at my webpage, as soon
as I get a Gate or Trigger functioning properly. :) (Then I'll get the 2nd
rotary for each step done as well, so that I can alternate between each
pair, on each step. :D )
