I did all of that, and think it did help. The voices sounded louder,
clearer and more in tune. It hasn't glitched since then, but I also
subsequently majorly upgraded capacitors. A couple of the ones on
there looked anemic. I'll post pictures when I'm done, I have a couple
more to replace. The local elex company didn't have what I wanted in
stock.

Nope, has the stock battery. This one came from Indianapolis by way of
a Lawyer that came here for law school and stayed.
I had done the power on reset numerous times with no effect, so that
likely wasn't it... but definitely a good tip! I think the
mondo-capacitors will do the trick, at least I hope so. If not, I am
going to get a tiny UPS for performance. It hasn't glitched once since
I upgraded half of them, so this might be a good band-aid...If it
continues to work I'll post what all I did & give a Mouser BOM.
On another note, anyone have any tips on getting the foot pedal to
work right? I went and bought a nice yamaha one and can't seem to do
anything but screw up patches trying to get it to work.
take care,
Jester
P.S. I am delving into midi, if there are any gotchas with the M-6 i'd
love to hear them.
