When I said 17V ptp, this was just the number that my digital scope told 
me - it's probably not that accurate and could be like 16.5V or 
something.  With a 100K input resistor (and a 1M feedback resistor), 
there *can't* be very much current flowing, so I feel fairly safe now.

This is one IC that's definitely going to be put in a socket for easy 
replacement!
