Try Kicad.

Its free. It works. It has an intsaller for Windows and is easy to get
started with.
Some people will say to try gEDA. Its fine too, expect a steeper
installation curve and less integration thats why I suggest Kicad.
If you are on a Mac, try Epoxy.

Note that both Kicad and Epoxy are EuroCentric from the standpoint of its
hard to convince them to print on standard "Letter" sized paper.
Just consider this revenge of the French for years of US-Centric software
