All - I should jump in and defend Matt a little here; I don't think he met 
"shit" as in "bad" - Matt and I have chatted in person on many occasions 
and he often uses "shit" as a generic term for "stuff." I know he uses all 
manner of strange software in making his music.

The best compliment he pays things is to call them "sick," as in "man, the 
modulation routings you can do in Abelton Live are totally sick!" or "that 
Merzbow album is sick! I can't stop listening to it." ;)
