Should be no trouble to remote the SMPS
(power supply) if you include some really
big (electrolytic) decoupling caps ay the
motherboard.  You only need to worry about the
inductance of the remote leads causing instability
because of the delay between a power demand and
the eventual supply. The caps will fix that.

Why not remote the monitor and keyboard and put
the computer in another room... or that hole in the
ground.

Avoiding the bucket, AND the crack
whores would probably be a good idea.. :^)
