Thanks for everyone's replies, and for setting me straight on the amp requirements of a pc.

My machine isn't cutting edge, and hence no chipset or graphics card fans. I stuck my finger (briefly) into the cpu cooler fan, and
determined that, whilst that was noisy, the case fan was the main culprit.

I shall, I think, remove that and replace it with another fan - http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=19864
Seems to be a reasonable option. There are probably better, but id like to get the fan and the next item from the same supplier, as
then I wont get double postage.

As for the cpu, as I say, its not a quick one, and, I read fanless heatsinks are applicable, so I think this fits the bill -
http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=25503
It has a fan, but can be run without on slower systems.

Tom mentioned dynamat, which seems like a good idea, however, finding it dosnt look to be the easiest here (uk). My partner is
works with costume, so I think a load of felt is going to be an easier and cheaper solution for me - its not like it needs to be
durable or anything.

Maybe ill get some rubber washers on things too, just cut down on the resonant rattle also!
Well, here's hoping.

Thanks for everyone's help. Much appreciated : )
Julian
