[sdiy] Boycott Mouser and ROHS

After finding what appeared, at first, to be a suitable replacement
part for my Juno-60, 10uF non-polarized capacitor, on Mouser's web
site, I saw that it was one of those blasted ROHS compliant parts with
leads containing no, or practially no, lead. Upon teleponing Mouser,
and then being connected to a management droid to complain about them
being trators to their own country by complying with that ROHS idiocy
from the EU, and telling them that we in the US, not Europe, and
there's no need for Americans (well, except for Californians and ?) to
have to comply with whatever the EU decides, I was told that they're
doing what's good for the environment and can't discuss the matter.
She didn't care that we have equipment to repair that needs the parts
with leaded leads. Just as she was about to hang up on me, I told her
that Mouser was a traitor to the American people and that people like
them ought to be run out of this country (I should ahve added "with
sharp pitchforks") for siding with the EU over the needs of Americans
who need to repair older equipment. Of course, it's not only
Americans who are being harmed by this ROHS nonsense; many sensible
Europeans and people in the U.K,, etc., who like to repair their older
equipment, are being harmed by it as well.

Anyway, that's the last product that I'll attempt to order from
Mouser. Let's all do something good for the environment and promptly
put any catalogs they send us out for recycling! Of course, I dount
that they care about any individuals or small businesses boycotting
them.
