[sdiy] sk-1 bend problem

howdy,

It seems that in Mr. ghazala's book on bending, the
SK-1 picture/ schematic on page 274 shows the 1 to x
bend on the image switches. There is no connection
illustrated to the "1" side of the connectons. Does
this mean that 2 switches have to be thrown to start
thie bending? Also the 3rd switch in line has 3
connections while the 4th only has 1 wire hooked to
it. Seems like the 4th switch won't do anything. What
is the proper wiring configuration for the image
switches. I was refered to the publisher's website to
see if there is a correction. Is there a particular
address that will take me there without getting
tangled up in the menus of the website? Thanx.

I stumbled across a Fischer Price "Jammin Draw" for
$2. Opening it up it's all surface mount and there are
no giant chips that one would normally encounter for
bending. There is one small epoxy blob that I suspect
has the main processor in it. The music and sounds in
this unit, coupled with it's HUGE contact membrane
switch matrices make it look like an EXCELLENT
candiddate for bending. The machine generated muzik
comes out one speaker while the "played muzik" comes
at the other. It sounds like it can do some AWESOME
bends but I have no clue. Anyone ran across this
gadget? I'd be interested in hearing from you. I also
picked up a Fischer Price gizmo that is a LOT like the
Little Smart Alphabet Desk. It has an LED matrix in
the middle that is VERY intriguing. Haven't opened it
up yet but if anyone has tinkered with one of these,
I'd also like to hear from you. Thanx.
Rig
