Possible. I have seen customs like this made from time to time, and I do get
the occasional enquiry about such myself.

Now that is the way I think. IF (and I doubt it) I do ever start selling
modules, I will be using a similar approach. Some parts simply aren't worth
salvaging, but ordinary capacitors sure are, as are various solid state
devices. Make it a feature. "Uses vintage parts reclaimed from 1969 whatever
it was."
Now that I think about it, my Real Ring does exactly that.
