First off, congratulations!

Secondly, in the States you really have a fairly wide range of
'acceptable' at a dress function. Still, it's hard to go wrong with a
black or dark grey suit, white shirt, and a light blue or even red
tie. You probably already know this but just in case, black shoes and
socks too (no brown or grey or blue). You'd be surprised how many
people screw up those details.

BTW, a regular tie please. I know this will probably start another
flame fest, but I've NEVER really seen anybody wearing a bow tie that
wouldn't look better with a regular tie. Unless you're Orville
Reddenbacker or the Sheriff of Mayberry, a regular tie looks much
better ;-)
