Yes it's true, but ferrite beads can help attenuate the very high 
frequency switch-edges that tend to get through.

I have no actual experience here, it's just what I've read - personally 
I always use linear.

Things like the new Mackie mixing desks are using switchers, so it must 
be possible to get nice clean power for audio from them.
