Ah yes. That may be exactly what it is. I have a friend who doesn't ride the
faders for constant level when setting EQ (and compressors, gates,
expanders). I try to explain to keep the same apparent levels while A B'ing
the clean / processed signal. For example, CUT the EQ and raise the fader.
It's always boost boost boost.
