I have both.  There is no comparison.  The first one is essentially 
dysfunctional.  Not smooth, barely responsive, no nuance.  New one is 
pretty good - a little slicker, a lot more sensitive to 
pressure.  One is a gimmick; the second a playable 
instrument.  Personally, I thought Doepfer should have offered any 
purchaser of version one a steep discount to upgrade to the functional model.
