It doesn't really sound much like a real DX7.
Real DX7s actually sound pretty nasty compared to just about anything.
(Except the even cheaper DX21, DX11, and so on.) Spiky bass sounds still
work, but anything more ambient just sounds grainy.

Mostly the DACs, which are - well - primitive.

I sort of like it. It's never quite wowed me, but it has a lot of potential.
Some of that is the UI, which I hate.
I have a DX5. If '7s really were selling for $5K, I'd be rich. :)
