I'm pretty sure the FM7 won't save it's patches as SysEx (only the other 
way round) - at least I can't see a way to do it.

But why would you want to use a DX7 anyway if you had FM7?  Doesn't the 
DX7 create it's sounds digitally?  So what's the advantage in having a 
bulky bit of hardware with a horrible editing interface when you can 
just use the FM7.
