I share your feelings about the RadiOhms (at least those sold at Conrad,
Reichelt, etc.)
You can get Alpha pots from www.musikding.de .
I also used a lot of inexpensive Alps pots from www.rs-components.de , but
they don't have much variety of these anymore.
As for the good stuff: conductive polymer ("Leitplastik") from Bourns,
available from RS Components and Farnell. (The blue square ones.)
Neither Farnell nor RS officially sell to private persons, but I think no
one will complain, or ask any questions, if you just fill your last name
into the form as a company name. Just be aware that their catalogue
prices are without tax, so you'll find 16% Mehrwertsteuer added on your
invoice. (Might be 18% soon, if it comes to the crunch and Ugly
Angie has here way.)
