[sdiy] 1N4001 vs. 1N4007

. . . and why would anyone want a 1N4001 instead of 1N4007. Is
there any advantage to the lower voltage series? They are the
same price, so there must be some reason why they are
manufactured (1N4007 failed spec = 1N4006?).
