I'm back . . . I've finally caught up on e-mails. Man y'all wrote
a lot in the last month+. I've discovered that if you uninstall
the hamstrung word that comes with windows, you use gif
capability in paint and spell check in outlook express. Now,
1) Does anyone have any CDP1802 uPs they don't want, at a
REASONABLE price. Intersil has brand new ones but there selling
them as high reliability (quailified for mil and space use.) I
don't need a mil-spec 1802 at mil spec prices.
2) Why should I use your favorite uP instead of mine? . . . and
don't tell me bigger instruction set - I like RISC. Yes I know
the chip is slow, but I have a working infrastructure for this
chip.
3) This chip is probabily going to be used in a prom programmer -
the advantage is directly addressed IO - 8 eight bit ports with a
single off chip 3 to 8 decoder and latches for the data.
4) I just discovered how relatively easy IDE is. I think I'm
going to add a 20G hard drive to my 32K 1802 system. It's easier
than adding a floppy.
. . . and the synth DIY. I'm just trying to program PROMS for a
sample playback module.
