[sdiy] minimoog without keyboard

Hey there
I bought a minimoog which was without the keyboard. I am trying to get it going just as a rackmount/modular set up but I am having a few problems without the keyboard.
All boards have been checked on another mini and are found to be correct. I did not have the board 2 which has the env gens and the keyboard circuit - so I built the env gens and did not put the parts in the keyboard circuit because I did not think I needed it. Envelopes work fine!

So basically I cannot get the VCOs to trigger. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get the VCOs to trigger. For some reason when part of the VCO board touches the chassis it triggers the VCOs. What is going on here? What actually triggers the minimoog VCOs?

There is the 6 pin plug which is supposed to connect to the keyboard - do I need to mod this to get it to work.
