Analogue: simpler, smaller parts count, may need some transistor matching
and level trimming.
Digital: more complex, larger parts count, won't usually need trimming, can
produce interesting effects if clock rate is varied. Some patches may also
benefit from a repeatable pseudo-random signal rather than a truly random
one, and this can only be done digitally.
