Hello Danjel,

I don't think you should use a standard XLR cable for that job.  It's very 
common for XLR cables to be mis-wired, or to have small intermittent shorts in 
them.  This might be problematic for a microphone cable, but it could be 
disastrous for a power supply connection.  A properly wired XLR cable will work, but 
I still think it's too risky.  It's probably best to use one of the polarized 
3 or 4 pin Amphenol connectors (like the ones used in most modern modular 
synths -- check www.blacet.com for more info)
