They are not older than 25years, but I have to
admit that's quite old in the technology world.
"Relais" is also Dutch as well as German for
relay, and they were indeed manufactured by
Schaltbau GmbH, for the German army. They are
still in superb condition, like all the parts I
received in my surplus-surprise box. All of the
boards were first sealed with laquer, then in
airtight foil with drying crystals and moisture
indicators (still blue) inside, wrapped in
cotton, boxed, sealed and sometimes even boxed
again.
Jawohl, Grundlichkeit!
Going over those boards is like an archeologic
adventure and I've found several members of
unknown species by now, still to be classified. I
also pulled off a nice collection of obsolete tin
can transistors, all JAN and JANTX quality. So if
someone ever needs to build a modular for a polar
expedition, give me a call. :-)

But I'm still curious after the original function of the board with the coils:

Nobody seems to have *any* idea what it's for.
Not that it would make the thing anymore useful
to me, just can't stand unsolved riddles. ;-)

Thanks,
Senso
