[sdiy] surprisingly successful surface mount scenario

I received my first surface mount boards last friday and spent
a few hours soldering everything in. Dealing with the surface
mount parts was a lot easier than I expected. In fact, I'd say
the smaller pitch parts like tqfp and tssop were easier to
solder than the larger soics. I could sweep the soldering iron
across a row of smaller pins in one motion. The soics and soj
package had to be soldered one pin at a time. A pair of good
tweezers and a flux pen were essential. Here is a picture of
one of the two boards I built:
