Maybe I am confused, does not the Paia unit use a 8031?

My old Paia came with a CMOS processor. The current draw was indeed quite
low, and much lower than the documentation suggested.
The only problem with this is that many of the i/o lines are floating. I
always thought you were supposed to gently tie them to a rail? Anyway, I
put a few extra resistors in the circuit to do this just in case.
